In Episode 02, I share some thoughts about Ted A. Smith’s, The End of Theological Education. I found this book to be a fascinating and helpful walk through some history of theological education. But more than mere history, Smith describe cultural and sociological changes within and outside of seminaries that impact how and why people pursue theological education. While Smith may think the end of seminary as we know it is coming, he does offer some ways to think about moving forward. And it’s those ways forward that I’ve been thinking about.
Give this a watch (I can’t stay under 5 minutes this time!) and give the book a read.
Follow Northern Seminary for some new initiatives that might be a new way forward.
