Recently, a dear friend said gave me this generous compliment. “It’s always easy to talk with you for a while. You read so much so your always filled up with ideas and things to share and bounce around with others.”
Upon reflection, I think he is right. I certainly do read a lot. Even more, I probably have more thoughts about what I read than I have time to share with others (or they have time to listen to). The thought occurred to me that I could just record some unscripted videos sharing what stood out to me about different books. Not reviews per se, just reflections. Unformed thoughts that may or may not be interesting but will always be honest.
In an effort to keep these interesting, I am setting a time for five minutes each time I record this. So, that’s my challenge to myself (and promise to you if you watch it). I will talk about the book for five minutes or less.
Here is the first one. It’s a little longer because I share this introduction before digging into the book. For the first episode of 5 Minute Look at the Book, I talking about Eric Larson’s The Devil in the White City.
Let me know if you enjoy this segment or not. And if you read the book and have thoughts about it, add them in the comments.
